I have a dream, a very big and possible one that has become an ongoing attainment. In "Living the Dream", as it is said, sailing has been a life long passion, a dream come true. As it all started around the age of 25, yet inspired many years before that, I learned of sailboats by reading about them, asking questions and walking the docks where I would see the beauty of boats.
Since that age, I acquired several boats ranging from a 20' Cal to my present yacht, a Passport 42. The latter yacht is what made a real dream of living and sailing in French Polynesia possible. It was all out of perseverance, patience, determination and struggles, always keeping my eye on the horizon of dreams. I didn't quit, give up or be distracted by anything else other than sailing.
As you may see in some of my entries, there is a sharing of successes and failures, accomplishments and disappointments. I will also share the peace and quiet, the silence of sailing solo, the gratifications of the gift of sailing. It's my passion to feel all that comes with a fine sailboat and as an aged captain.
Sail along with me to see the beauty of far away islands and bays, new cultures and people, and being able to see how large this world really is.
I do know, however, that finding your passion is a task of sorts, but once it is found it is truly realized that it’s a gift not ever worth passing up, a humbling experience. Eat, breath every moment of this gift, focus intently with all of her heart and do not be intimidated by disappointments. Be thrilled by even the smallest achievement every day since once that is a positive grain of sand in your hourglass of life’s dream for you.
